Ceiling Pull Prop
The Ceiling Pull Prop is designed to train the firefighter to experience real life feedback when pulling a ceiling with the tools (typically a New York Hook) they utilize to do so. The prop can be loaded with all the real world consumables one would use to create / build a ceiling in a residential structure. Shown in the video below, our Ceiling Pull Prop is mounted into one of our high cube (9ft. tall) Conex Box Training Centers.
To Load:
Simply pull the two cotter pins out of their slots. Lower the hinged platform. The chain length will stop it from falling any further. You can change the length of the chain as you see fit. If not already installed, add the 2x4s in their designated slots. Screw in using the pre-drilled holes to lock the 2x4s in place. Slot the 4x8 sheet of drywall. If the drywall is thicker than 5/8”, unscrew the Heim Joints (use a ladder) until they seat further out for a flush, tight fit against and across the full length of drywall. Secure in place by pushing the platform back up to its original ceiling height and reaffix the two cotter pins.
